Can we learn the cable on something easier like a hat. We need to learn the stitch, first.

Hi All,

Yes it is possible. I have been learning a number of cabling techniques which I will be sharing with you during the classes I will teach in January and February. It is not particularly difficult to make all sorts of cables on the loom and once you know how, you can make more decorative hats, scarves, shawls and the like. I am currently working on a hat with cabled ear flaps that is looking quite nice so far.

I am not certain this particular project will be good for a class because it is rather complex what with the cabling techniques, the need to learn how to increase and decrease, plus the need to sew the front, back, and two sides together. but if anyone is up for this sort of challenge, we can talk about it for a March class and it would likely take four classes.

So hope to see you in one or more of these classes next year. you will just love the cables!

The more I learn, the more I want to learn!

Cathy
