I just have to tell you that Pattern works store is in Center Harbor New
Hampshire and it is right next to Keepsake Quilting. I missed last year,
but usually my girl friend and I make a weekend trip up to visit those 2
places in the Spring. I have to tell you it is a wonderful trip and we both
come back with treasures and lots of projects from both places. You talk
about the pictures of the projects well it is fabulous wandering around this
large shop and feeling the yarns and touching the sweaters and all
obviously they take the pictures that are in the catalog or newsletter and then
display the made items in the shop. I spend as much in each shop and I have
not made it yet into the third shop that is there in the shopping area. It
is a kinda kit and project place. As I said I have not gone there, but
they have needle point, crewel and kits like that there. I will have to go
and check it out for everyone hopefully this Spring. We found an Outlet
Center near the hotel that we stay at.[My daughter gets us employee rates for
the hotel $29 per night][She is assistant manager of a hotel in CT] We
spend the first afternoon there at the outlet center. On our way home we
stop in the New Hampshire Liquor store as they are a lot cheaper due to less
taxes on their liquor.

My favorite place to buy yarn on-line is
http://www.elann.com
They carry really good yarns that are discontinued so you can get amazing
deals. They carry anything else you might need for knitting/crocheting,
too.
I love the FREE PATTERNS you can get there as well. I have bought a lot
from
this source, and it is in Canada.

http://patternworks.com
Another really good resource for patterns and yarns. You can get a FREE
catalogue in the mail from this place, too, as well as shopping on line.
One thing I like about patternworks is that they show you a particular
item,
made up from one of the yarns so you can see how that yarn will look in a
particular pattern. You can buy the pattern, or pattern book, and order
your
yarn at the same time. Each photo of an item tells you if the pattern is
WRITTEN...which is good to know since I cannot DEAL with CHARTS at all...I
have to HEAR the instructions.

A favorite place to buy hand dyed and hand spun yarns, for me, is Cherry
Tree Hill in Vermont. Amazing colors, textures, and really really NICE
yarns.

And finally, I love the onle below that is:
http://www.yarnmarket.com
They sell very superior yarns, and carry so many different brands you can
find almost anything you would want. I have never been disappointed with
the yarns I have purchased from this site.

My latest issue from Pattern Works just arrived and oh, my, the lovely
things there...I have just picked out a nice pattern for a Palladio
Pattern
featured on the front cover - have to make it to wear on my trip to Puerto
Rico in April. I always knit something wonderful to wear when I am
traveling - gives me a goal and a deadline. I will call and order the
yearn
and the pattern.
