Here is a technique that we used today during our grooming class. It worked slick!

Subject: Nail polish alternative

Hello!
We had a session on grooming today at the center and I came up with a new alternative for applying nail polish using Elmers glue or Modge Pod.

1. Apply a generous amount of Elmer's glue or Mod Podge around the area of the fingernail (all the way around on the skin). This will serve as a frame to keep the polish from getting on the finger. This can be applied with a finger or a Q-tip. If the person is new to using polish, they may want to apply the glue farther down on the fingers to keep the polish from getting on their skin.

2. Wait for the glue to dry completely.

3. Once the glue is dry, apply desired nail polish.

4. Wait for the nail polish to dry.

5. Peel off the glue with your fingers. Grabbing any edge of the glue will make it come off like a sticker. It should come off easily if a good amount of glue was used.
The finished product will be a nail that has good edges and the nail polish will have stuck to the glue and not on the finger.
Hope this helps.
