Charlotte,

Thanks for writing.  I read in another post that you taught yourself how to 
make your gemstone jewelry.  I'm fascinated by that.  What are your favorite 
gemstones and where do you get them?  How did you learn how to finish your 
projects?  did you teach yourself tht, too.  You're right, donating items 
can be worthwhile.  We used to have a group at my church who knitted for 
charity but I don't know if they're still doing it.  I guess I should find 
out if they're still doing it and get involved with them.  If I do, I'll let 
you know what happens.

Hi. I've been making gemstone jewelry for about 15 years and soaps for
about 3. I get donated yarn and I find lots of free patterns online. It
helps with the cost. I couldn't knit nearly the amount I do without the
donated yarn. But I don't mind donating the time because it definitely
goes for a good cause.
