You can get if you make the strips 5 1/2 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide 8
pieces from 1 jelly roll strip. Now if you want to make the strips longer
and with using the 12 inche ring I suggest you do make them longer figure
your fabric is 44 inches wide so you can get 7 pieces out of 1 strip if
you use 6 inche strips or 6 stripsif you use 7 inch
I made mine out of the 10 inch rings and I had made several with the 5 1/2
inch strips and it was suggested by my husband that has never said much
about my crafting that I should make them longer to go toward the center more.
So I was going to give it a try with the 7 inch and get some opinions. I
don't know if you are using the 1 metal ring type or the ring that has I
think 2 rings [one placed within the other ring. So you have a double layer
of the strips working.
For my 10 inche ring I used approximately 75 to 80 pieces and I used 1/4 of
a yard of fabric and tied a nice bow on the wreath. I think I cut the 1/4
yard in half lengthwise andgot 2 bows out of it. I folded the fabric in
half wrong sides together and tied a good size bow to the wreath and took a
piece of wire and put it thru the back of the bow as a hanger. The first
1 I made I did not do that and the bow tipped forward and it would not
stay on my nail as well. The wire held the bow upright better and it is
better.
I am making St. Patty's Day wreaths right now.strips.

I'm glad I had the day off to search for this product. I found what I think
is a good price for a 12" single ring at
http://www.aworldofplenty.com/7-floral/floral.html and wanted to share in
case anyone else wants to buy some too. They were $.75 each and the
shipping
was $6 when I ordered 6 so they worked out to $1.75 each. I have no idea
how
to gauge whether the jelly roll will make 1 or 3, so I took a chance and
got
extra. If it will make only one, that means I have about $6 invested in the
wreath and if I use the standard, triple your materials cost to get the
retail price, I will sell the wreath for $18. If the jelly roll doesn't
provide enough fabric to make the whole wreath, I am up the proverbial
creek
without a paddle. Thoughts? Have any of you sold a wreath made from fabric
scraps at a Craft Sale before? How big? How much? And if anyone knows the
ratio of fabric to wreath ring sizes, I would love to know to help me plan
and shop.
