I am not sure how strong thy make, but you can always check out.   
Supposely automotive part places carry them, too I think I heard that.

Another suggestion especially for Henrietta after reading  her email.   You 
need to get a telescopic magnet 8 to 12 pound  strength.  I think it  
extends

down like 3 or 4 feet, but  perfect for finding that gross of metal  
needles!!!  and pins  for the sewers...  I get them time to time from  EBay.
I  
can't live without one.  I just have it stuck to the metal  leg  on the
sewing 
table I have my sewing machine sitting  on.

I store my needles in a surrenge holder. My Husband  gets ten cc  surrenges 
and they come in a plastic tube with a cover.  they have kept me in  
needles 
for a much longer time. Any tube with a  cover might work. 

Just  a few tricks I have picked up after  loosing a gross or so of 
needles.
