I had Open Book, but never got efficient at it. I think this is easier or maybe I have a better teacher.

Terry,

You will learn various ways to improve the quality of your scans by adjusting various settings in the Kurzweil menus. . There is even an option that will allow the program to adjust the settings for you to help you get the best scan possible for a book or long document. perhaps you should wait until you have learned about these features before you attempt to do much serious book scanning, otherwise you will simply want to scan it again.
BTW, on the file the save as command allows you to save the file in any format you choose by tabbing to the combo box with in the save as dialog box.

I remember my own excitement back in 94 when I got Openbook and was able to scan my own print mail for the first time! what a sense of freedom and independence I felt.

Happy for you!

Cathy

today was my first class on the Kurzweil 1000! I scanned in the 2 fliers that came with my flexi looms. I started scanning the book I bought from them. I do not know how to translate to word yet. I found a lot of errors in the book, so far, so I might start over. Rejoyce, I can read, again and shair!
Taking the lap top home to hopefully get it hooked up to the internet. Say some prayers that things work, this time, please.

I am also making a colection of imfo about the kk loom. Some time, maybe it will be presentable. I am collecting imfo from e-mails, how great, all in one!
