[Nfb-krafters-korner] help interpreting crochet instructions

OMG! Joyce, I would never have thought of folding the chain up to the
first row and then, weaving them together! I was imagining going up
with a needle through a chain stitch and then down with the needle
through a single crochet and then back up a chain stitch. Your way
makes much more sense. I'll try it out and let everyone know how it
went. It should take like 20 minutes to complete the project. The
Martha Stewart yarn is really big, like half an inch thick and I think
it'll make a nifty trendy necklace.
