[Nfb-krafters-korner] stitching together pieces of a crocheted project

Hello,

There are a few baby blankets I'm going to be making in the near
future but looking at the patterns I see I am to stitch together the
different pieces. Do I just take a yarn needle and thread yarn and
literally stitch them together? Do I lay the pieces side by side and
insert the needle from the front into the back on piece A and then
bring the needle from the back to the front on piece B and repeat?

Or, is there a whole other way to do this?
