I have not done this, but maybe 8 ply  cotton with the mitton hand loom loom, might work.

I thought about it. But I thought you would need heavy yarn and I don't have any thick yarn that is cotton. I made the halloween bag on the loom and it would be too big. So you would have to use some of the pegs and then still sew it up. 

If you try it let me know how it works.
