[Nfb-krafters-korner] Carved Wooden Jewlery

My sister is self-taught regarding all of her carving.  She started off 
carving cookie presses which were the first kind of cookie cutters in the 
1700's.

She has several wood working and carving magazines along with specific books 
highlighting master carver techniques that she uses as references.  They are 
an on-going reference collection for her along with the (we won't count 
them) reference books and texts that she has accumulated over 30 plus years 
for her drawing and painting references.  I gave her a book on dog breeds of 
the world for her reference library.

Her tools are all small hand carving tools which include things like scoops, 
chizzles, blades, gouges, files etc.  She also uses a small battery/electric 
Drimmal drill with several attachments.  She is looking to do some bone 
carving and has gotten a few ideas for pendants that could be in either wood 
or bone, but I won't let her carve bone in the house.  It produces fine 
splinter like shards that become airborne and since I have already been in 
the hospital twice in October with bloodclots in my lungs, that is a project 
she can sit on the front porch with.

Pattie is also teaching my husband to carve a walking stick.
