Hi Friends,
Today is the day I meet with Dr. Freeman in Pittsburgh, PA to do a discussion on sight loss and the arts. I am so excited and hope to be able to share what we do as crafters and artists with those who attend this meeting today. I have examples of my beadowrk and pottery that I will be sharing with the group so they have visuals. Visuals are always a good thing! haha

While I never EVER speak for any group of people, I do think that sharing my own story and the impact of being part of a group of other artistans like we are here is so important. Without many of YOU, I would not have even thought I could do the many things I now do. When I go to speak today, it is with deep gratitude to the NFB and to this group, and to JOYCE and others here. Thank you.

The Impact of Low Vision

Faces Seen Hearts Unknown Series

Saturday, March 24: 1 p.m.

The focus for this program is the impact of Low Vision on individuals, families and communities. This program is inspired by Lynda Lambert's ability to continue with her art practice in spite of vision loss. The format for the event will be casual and participants and visitors will sit together and informal discussion of how Low Vision has touch their lives. Doctor Paul Freeman, Head of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Center at Allegheny General Hospital and co-author of The Art and Practice of Low Vision will be joining us. The Faces Seen Hearts Unknown Series invites community members to share their stories so we can better understand issues presented in artwork and this series began several years ago with the Beyond Shared Language exhibition.
