Thanks Cathy for your concerns about your CT friends here. Last year
Dixie had a lot of water damage to her summer cottage on the water so we just
need to sit tight until we hear from everyone.

Hello, Cathy checking in from northeastern Ohio.
High winds and flooding here last night. lake Erie had such huge waves that
I90, a main highway connecting Pennsylvania with Ohio and Indiana, was
partially closed because of the lake flooding onto the highway. This part
ofI90 is locally referred to as "the Shoreway" because it is so close to
the
lake.
As for me personally, I live perhaps ten miles from the lake and the high
winds knocked out our power from sometime after midnight till 8 this
morning. I lost some ice cream, boohoo, but otherwise things in the freezer
were savable. I was worried that one of the many trees on my property might
fall onto my roof, but I am happy to report that the roof is in tact and so
are myself and all who live here with me.
Those reports of Manhattan underwater with things floating by in the
streets
and no subway service were just unbelievable. I was raised in the NYC
suburbs in a town right on the Long Island Sound. Wonder how my little town
has faired. I walked the streets of Manhattan many times as well, most
recently training with my guide dog, so I have a picture of what that place
looks like and can't imagine what they are describing.

Anyhow, I am eager to hear from others on the list, particularly our
friends
in Connecticut! I don't remember anyone in our group living in NYC, but if
you do, please let us all know how you are.
