Hi, So sorry you have been struggling with this for so long. I can 
relate however. I have only had my iPhone for a year or so, but I'd be 
glad to help if I can. As may have been mentioned, I don't think you 
can just talk a text message with just the iPhone 4. The more advanced 
versions have Siri which is the voice recognition for the iPhone I 
think. Like I said, I'd be glad to help if I can.
