Cathy,
I don't know the kind of hemp that was used, but I have a hemp bracelet. My
friend made it for me and it is not scratchy. It is slender like embroidery
floss, but stiffer. She made it using square knots and it looks like maybe
6 strands.

Hi Debbie,
Oh great, I will be looking forward to learning about your hemp. One reason
I was reluctant to try it was because I was afraid that it would be scratchy
on my skin, you know like rope? So let me know about that. That is where I
was looking at all the knotting cord, on consumercrafts. I also love the
idea of shell beads! I went to Joann's and found the pearl cotton that
Joyce mentioned and there are lots of colors in that as well. I know that
cotton is nice and soft on the skin, so I am leaning in that direction at
the moment.
Cathy
