I am using hearts and round pony beads. Both have a large hole.
Check in the kids section for beads with large holes. There are square, heart, foot ball, wooden beads and maybe the flower beads might work. Not sure on the flower beads.

To clarify this a little better to everyone, the beads can be the same shape just different sizes. Example 9 small beads to represent the ones and
9 larger beads to represent the tens.

You can use different shape beads or different color beads if you want.
It is what will work best for you and what beads you can find.

Hello Paulette,

My apology for any confusion. You need a total of 18 beads, 9 in one shape and 9 in another shape.
