[Nfb-krafters-korner] crafts for sighted kids?

Hello all,

 

A while ago Joyce asked us how we felt about the topic of sharing crafts for
kids on this list. I would like to share my opinion on this topic, although
I expect it may be something not all will agree with.

 

I believe that sharing crafts that parents and grand-parents do with sighted
children is off-topic for this list. There are many lists and internet
resources as well as books that focus on this topic. if the topic were
specifically focused on crafts for blind or visually impaired children then
I believe it would be on topic. conversation about what crafts we did as
visually impaired children is also relevant and might help parents of
visually impaired children with ideas.

I do hope that no one takes this as a personal attack for it is not intended
that way. I am simply addressing the subject matter of sharing craft ideas
for sighted kids. We are adults and I believe are primary focus here is for
crafts for the visually impaired and there is enough to keep us busy with
that area and leave crafts for sighted children to other lists.
