ah, wild is good in a very good way. I love wild.

Yes, I buy the really good yarns for things for me - other things, the box
stores are fine. I do make things that I sell at two artist's markets at
Christmas, and I could not sell them if I made them of the really good stuff
because the price would be way too high and most folks don't know the
difference - they are happy with it and I am happy with the sales, too.

I am a NORO HOE, BTW!
and, I love Cashmere and Merino yarns, and silks, and hand painted, hand
dyed yarns - for ME.
I knit things that I wear - mostly. I love rocking my own fabrics.

I no longer weave. When I lost my sight, I had to give up my weaving room in
order to make an office where all my equipment could be installed - so I
gifted my custom made Macomber loom to a weaving program at a historical
museum - where it is the crown jewel of their program. It was a sad day when
I had to part with my loom, but there was just no other way, and I am happy
I found it a good home. I had bought that loom by doing a commission for the
President of a University - so my one job bought my beautiful loom, tons of
linen warp and many many cones of really expensive yarns. These days, I am
working on making pottery, doing a lot of knitting, and doing encrusted
beadwork for exhibitions I am in - which is pretty darn exciting for me to
be able to be in juried exhibitions again. I lost 5 years but I am back in
the art game again with full speed ahead.

Like I said, an artist never never never quits - and I meant that from
experience.
