Welll, it depends how much chatting goes on if you complete the  pattern.  
Barb reads the pattern to us so you can work the pattern and  chat.  It is 
usually one of the dischcloth patterns that Knit is knit and  purl stitches.  
Some folks work on whatever project they want.  These  are usually patterns 
that are found on the internet so the idea is if you don't  finish it  the 
link to the website is posted to the list so you can go and  get the pattern 
and continue it.
