[Nfb-krafters-korner] SSK Knit Stitch

Hi Annette,
This is how I do the SSK. I slip the two stitches as if to knit, one at a
time, from the left needle to the right needle. Then instead of inserting
the left needle along side the right needle and knitting them together with
the left needle, I slip the stitches off of the right needle back onto the
left needle and then knit them together with the right needle. The main
purpose of this stitch combination is to put a twist in each stitch to the
right, knitting them together and off the needles with a right twist and
decreasing a stitch in the process. I believe this also gives the finished
stitch a tilt or slant to the right . Whether you knit together and off
your needle with the left or right needle doesn't matter because they both
give you the same twist/slant. I think sliding them back on the left is
easier for me. Also, if I'm not mistaken, if you do it the way they
suggest, you are pulling your working yarn loop through with the left
needle, dropping the two slipped stitches off the right needle, which then
leaves your new stitch on the left needle and you still have to then slip it
back onto the right needle. Too much back and forth for me.
