hi Terry P,

fuzzy is fine as long as it is something you can work with comfortably. it is a twelve inch square stocking more or less, so not much yarn is needed. red and white sounds just perfect, but do you have a skein of each or do you have one skein that has both colors? you will need two different skeins if you wish to learn how to stripe. but if you just want to make the stocking with one skein of a variegated color, of course that is ok!
for those who have never made a bootie or slipper this would probably be a better choice.
