Thanks Dave, but this is a problem with web pages and not with in emails. I
do sometimes have the problem in emails and follow the steps you suggest. I
am not sure why the links sometimes work within emails and other not though,
just how I deal with it. :)

It is probably that in your e-mail, the link does not look like a 
link to your computer.  Highlight the text of the link, copy to 
clipboard with control-c and launch Internet Explorer, type control-o 
to open a site, and paste the text into IE with control-v and hit enter.
