[Nfb-krafters-korner] removing scents from fabric or yarn

Hi all --
I made a plastic canvas tissue box cover last year, and sent it to my sis in 
law, the one with the allergies.
She says she can't use it because of the smell, even after repeated washing.
Of course I didn't mean for the project to pick up my perfume, I thought she 
could wash it to get the smell out.
I asked her as a last resort if she had tried vinegar.  That is on her to do 
list.
My question to you is, have you got a good way of getting a scent out of a 
fiber project?
