yay Charlotte, here is a tip I learned about working with ruffle yarn, if your working from the skein as it comes, you constantly have to untwist the skein as you use it, so I wind mine around a paper towel roll, then when I'm working on my project, I place the roll on a paper towel holder. When I wind it onto the paper towel roll, I will spread the yarn open, wind a bit, spread some more, wind a bit until I get the whole skein on the paper towel roll.

Also, through May 13, Red Heart is running a $2.99 shipping deal. I can't do better than that paying someone to take me to the store. So I thought I'd pass it along.
