[Nfb-krafters-korner] Crocheting, loom knitting, knitting, beadwork, and misc. other things

You could make a granny square cotton wash cloth by single crocheting and on
the back stitch. The ripples will help clean off the dishes better. I
assume just one schain at the corners, and probably just one sc in the
chain. So it would go in the corner one sc, chain one, and then one sc. You
would have to make a swotch to see if it lays reasonably flat.

So maybe chain three, slip stitch the ring. Chain one, turn one sc, chain
one for the corner, two sc, chain one until you get four corners. Chain one
turn, now if at the corner do as above with sc, then chain one, sc to the
corner. Four sc across to corner in total, and so on. This next row is
where I would start the back stitch. So six sc, chain one, six sc and so on
until you reach the square size you want.

Feel free to make adjustments.

Hi Lily,

You would want 100% cotton yarn or a cotton blend yarn for a cloth. As for
whether you could make a wash cloth from a granny square. Well, you could,
it is just that a granny square has a waffle-like texture, so your cloth
would have lots of holes in it. so if you didn't mind that, then you could
certainly do that. Most folks knit their cloths.

Cathy
