Another idea is maybe to add a field where new members can say how they
heard about us.

That way we can see where and how well any advertising is working.

Such as: online search, recommended by a friend, heard about KK at
convention, on the radio show,  that kind of thing.  Then you will have an
idea of where our new members are recruited from?
