[Nfb-krafters-korner] A cute, simple craft for rainy days

Maria, It's not critical how you bend the pipe cleaners.
Basically you just need a length of pipe cleaner about 12 inches
long (it can either be one long one or two attached together).
You will put one end through a hole in the center of a plate.
Bend or squeeze together some of the pipe cleaner to form a wad
on the top so it won't go back through the hole. You can make
another wad under the hole to keep it in place. then you shape
the bottom of the pipe cleaner like the hook on a candy cane.

I hope this helps.

Hi. not sure how to arrange the pipe cleaners? This could be a
good craft for the kids in my life.
Blessings!

Hello All, We just moved to Florida on Monday and it has been
raining almost everyday, so there has been a lot of talk about
rain. My two year old grandson, Kingston, came home from day
care with a cute umbrella craft so I thought I would share the
idea with you.

 Materials; one lightweight paper plate
 paints, markers or crayons
 pipe cleaners

Directions; Have the child decorate the underside of the plate
with either paint, markers or crayons. This will become the top
of the umbrella. Punch a hole in the center of the plate. poke
a pipe cleaner through the hole and bend it around a few times so
it will not go back through the hole. Attach another pipe
cleaner on the opposite side of the hole and bend it a few times
so it will stay in place. Bend the bottom of the last pipe
cleaner into a j shape to form the handle of the umbrella shaft.
Note, If you have the really long pipe cleaners, you can use
only 1 and twist it on either side of the hole in the plate.

This is a simple craft but very appropriate at certain times of
the year. Kingston, who is just learning to talk is now saying,
more rain, more rain.
