I have never had a loom clip break. They are made of hard plastic and have a bit of give to them.
what you must do with them is to push the clips into the little holes on the bottom of the loom and
allow the peg to come up through the center of the loom at the corner.  Unfortunately I have found
that occasionally one or two of the holes on the looms are not quite large enough for the clips to
fit into properly. Folks who try to force the clips into too small holes probably broke their clips
doing so. if you want to use your long loom as a round loom, or to make a wider flat item using
both sides of the loom, then the clips are worth getting.
