The recording is saved on the pen and it is associated with the specific
number of the label.  If you want to read one label with multiple pens, you
will need to record the message separately in each pen.  Since Terry and
Henry both have a PenFriend, the set of labels that came with each of their
pens have the same series of ID numbers.  So if Terry records a message on
her label #23 and then touches her pen to Henry's label #23, she will hear
her message.  If Henry touches his pen to label #23 he will hear nothing
unless he has recorded his own message on that label.

Is the recording saved on the machine or the label?  I am thinking on  the
pen itself.  If it is saved on the pen, then you would need to use 1  label,
but record it on both pens.
