[Nfb-krafters-korner] Carrying yarn while making vertical stripes

Hi all,

I am starting a new loom knitted scarf for my roommate's birthday and
I want to make vertical stripes in our school colors. I know the
basics of changing colors, but I'm not sure of how to carry the second
color while I am using the main color. In my mind, I see the carried
yarn going behind the pegs as I am using the main color, but wouldn't
this create a weird effect? Thanks for the help.
