[Nfb-krafters-korner] What Crafts Are You Doing Now?

I love reading about the different projects everyone is working on.
They've given me plenty of new craft ideas to pursue. It seems like
most everyone on here crochets in one form or another. I tried
learning crochet from different people (my aunt, a couple friends, and
my boyfriend's grandma), but none of them managed to teach me the most
basic of stitches. I would always go away from the lesson feeling
frustrated and annoyed that I couldn't grasp such a basic concept. You
guys have inspired me to try again though and as soon as I finish with
my current projects, I'll go and grab some crochet hooks and attempt
it again.

As for my current projects, I'm working on a scarf for my roommate's
birthday on the long loom using the simple/zig zag stitch. It's coming
out really nicely. :). I'm also experimenting with different macrame
knots right now--not really working on one project as I want to learn
the knots before I try a certain pattern. I'm following tutorials
online and even though a lot of them have excellent instructions,
there are still a ton of visuals so it's taking me a while to
comprehend how the knots work. I'm braiding a few fleece tug toys with
handles to play with my guide dog as well. This is a super fun thing
for me to do because I'm trying out different amount of strands to
braid to see how strong each one turns out. I'm considering turning
thisit into business venture as there is a large guide dog community,
but it would take me a ton of time to plan, time that I don't have
during the semester. :P.
