Joyce,
I would think that the pen friend would be perfect for spools of thread. The
labels are small enough to easily fit onto the end of a spool and you can
say as much or as little as you want on the label when describing the color
and shade. For a while I had my beads in Advil bottles with a pen friend
label on the bottom of the bottle. I was able to say the color size and
shape of each bead. I stopped this practice only because I had more bead
types than Advil bottles. <smile>

I'd really like a color identifier one of these days but I am waiting till
they become more reliable.
