Valerie, I learned in a class here too make  knitted gift bags with
drawstrings.  I use them, sell them, donate them to bazaars, and they are
very popular and very reusable.  I am sure you could crochet them if
desired.  It is very simple to change the size when wanted.  It is also a
good way to use partial skeins of yarn.  Just put in a stripe or two if not
enough of one ball.

Hello everyone,  Yesterday I bought a gift bag from the newsagency to place
a tissue wrapped gift insde, I am wondering if we have ever had a gift bag
class, a bag made out of strong paper or light cardboard with little string
or plaited ribbon handles?   I imagine this might be in Lindy's corner as it
is all about folding.   Gift bags are so useful, I usually buy them as they
are easier than wrapping a gift and if we made them ourselves  we could
theme them by paper choices and decorate the borders.   In the past I've
received beautiful gift bags, one was decorated at the brim with tiny shells
another was a bag for teas, the bag  kitchen themed paper and little packs
of falvoured teas inside.  Did we have a gift bag class, I lost so much in
the computer crash, still trying to recall so many things that went.
