Hey Karen,
I believe we are all sick of the rain. We got 3 inches Wednesday and more
coming this weekend, so I know what you are feeling. Please stay dry and
safe. You make my mind whiz with you clay, something I need to ask you about
after the holidays. I am researching the earring things. Do you receive mail
from Consumer Crafts? I just found that their old newsletters on their site
gives wonderful instruction on this type of thing. Real great directions, I
am just too busy right now to take the time to really get into it. Nov, Dec
are my busiest times of the year, I really have to shop for Christmas gifts,
reasonably with 7 grandkids and a fixed income. I also make 75 percebt of
all my gifts for others. Last year dish cloths, this year mini displays in
tissue boxes. Of course I finished my Santa gifts for party and did treat
bags for the kids, late, but everyone loved them. I am so charged to do
Joyce's pony beads as seed beads earrings, but refusing to order needles or
thread or beads until after Christmas. I will be back to you on some of the
things you shared. Thanks

Hi Terry,

I started making earrings after the first class here was taught. People who
have my other jewelry also ask for earrings so I'm learning new design
techniques as I go. It is like this morning when I had to play technical
support to fix a mail server issue on a friend's iPad, I know just enough to
be dangerous. :) Hopefully we can team up and get more jewelry projects
going.

As for the clay, I make ornaments, photo frames, trinket boxes, flowers, all
sorts of things. Like the knitting, it is a tactile medium and a lot of fun.

A few years ago I made a large clay wreath with roses and leaves and my aunt
in Florida saw a picture and thought it was real. A friend says the knitted
leaves and roses look real from a distance, too. Well, that is the idea. :)

Can you believe we're under a flood watch again? Last Friday we got 15
inches and it knocked out the radar at our airport when the tower was
flooded. We don't need any more of this.

Karen,
My mind is asking. Please share with me, what skills you have in earrings
and things. It sounds like you have done some of these things, correct?Love
to hear what you have done and hope to convince you after the first of the
year to do a class on what you have learned. We did have some teachers of
earrings who are not teaching right now, for some reason and we did in the
past have someone who taugh clay crafting also. Like to know where you are
with this.

Lisa, It would be helpful to know what findings came in the earring kit. Did
the kit come with any tools? Did your local bead shop talk with you about
any basic tools you might need for the class?
