[Nfb-krafters-korner] FW: Short Tips are now available!

The grippy is the flat rubber thing that you use to help you get a better grip on a jar lid when opening it.  My Boyd interchangeable needle set came with a cute little one about 2 inches in diameter.  I do sometimes use that on my Knit Pick needles, but I most often use the little wire key to tighten and loosen these needles.  In a pinch when I could not find one of those little keys, I've used a small paper clip.  The problem with the key technique is finding the little hole to insert the key into.

I had them come apart a lot using the Knit Pick needles.  What are you referring to when you say grippy?  Where do you get them?

I have only had one needle tip that was not made right and they replaced it right away without me needing to send them the bad tip. If you use a grippy when you are screwing the needles on, they do not come apart. I have never had a knitpicks needle come unscrewed.

I don't know how confident I would be using Knit Picks screw on short tips on a project.  Shorter needles do more turning.  

I have had Denice needles break at the part that is the male part from the cord going into the needle point.  It has broken off and then they replace the cord and 1 needle as it gets stuck in there the piece that breaks off.

Never had any problems with them replacing them.  They did suggest I use a little longer cord.  So far so good with the longer cord.

I thought some of you would be interested.  I know this is not as short as you can get, but  this is interesting as it is easier to use shorter needle points when working in small circles.  It also takes a little getting use to.

Ok, we admit to originally being skeptical about the ease of knitting with such short needles, but are blown away by how comfortable these feel in our hands.  Emily is almost finished with a hat for 5-year old Claire and intends to do a bigger project (a lace scarf perhaps?) on them soon. Even a throw wouldn't be out of the question!  In other words, these are ideal for hats and sleeves, sure, but we're planning on using them for lots, lots more.
