[Nfb-krafters-korner] case for long loom

Hi,
Okay. I will mention it to both of the craft groups I am in right now. (one
only lasts 6 weeks). I know that a couple of them just put their looms in
the back seat of their car and carry it in with a pile of other stuff. So
they don't use a case. I would much rather use a case of some kind. 

I could crochet a case, but the pegs would probably stick out. If I made a
cloth interior, maybe the pegs wouldn't come through. 

I also, however, discovered that a concert ukulele case would work. It would
hold the long loom and the others that came with it, plus some yarn. So I am
thinking about getting one but haven't made the decision. 

I am definitely a bag lady! I have so many bags around here it's terrible.
But I could not find one long enough for this loom until I tried a rolling
duffel-type bag and it works well. So I may have my solution already. It
also would hold all of the looms, plus some yarn. So it just depends on
whether I want to carry or roll.

Lauren,

Another idea is to talk to the ladies at your meeting. Tell them of your
concerns and ask if they have any ideas. You might get surprised. They may
have the perfect solution. It also gives you a conversation starter and can
help you to get to know them as you talk.

Yes, I've been to many conventions and I am a bag lady! I have tons of them
around here. But none long and narrow enough for that loom.I worried about
having it sticking out on my way over to the meeting and even more concerned
when some of my work was sticking out where it could get snagged on
something.

Lauren, have you been to many conventions? One of those cases shoulder bags
you get at convention. Or, one of those cloth grocery bags. Or, a back packs
so you can carry all your important items in one place. To my knowledge
there isn't a formal bag. But if you get creative, something will turn up
just perfect for the loom.

Hi,

I didn't Google this because I don't know what info to put into the search
field. Is there such a thing as a case to hold the rectangular looms I just
got, especially the long one, since that is the one I am working on? I had
it in a large purse, but it still stuck out. If there is such a case, where
do I get it and what do I search for to get the right size?
