Sandra,

Are you a beginner with the beading? Do you want to learn how to make jewelry? Or other things with beads?

We are having a safety pin beading beginner's class the first week of November which you will learn how to put beads of different sizes and types onto safety pins and then learn how to wire them into the shape that you can put a glass candle holder in and burn a votive or tea light candle. You can also purchase battery tea lights that work just as well if you don't like burning candles.

I have taught plenty of pony bead projects that you use pony beads.

I am always in search for someone to teach jewelry beading classes, but the teachers I have found come and go as life is too busy.

So be more specific on what type of beading you would like to learn more about.

Hi, everyone!

Brrr, it’s cold here in CT! Turned heat on for the first time today, though expect to be able to shut it off again Tues., when we’re back around 60! Not ready for winter yet...

Speaking of which: I have some luscious pink yarn I’d like to use for a planned Christmas gift to my sister-in-law. It’s about double the thickness of regular worsted, though not the thickness or wooliness of a cashmeerish yarn—and I hope I have enough. Wouldn’t that feel nice as a lap project during our chilly autumn days! I want to do one of those combo neck-scarf/hats that you tie on with the scarf ties, and I want to do something with a small shell stitch, but not open-work, since winters here can be brutal, and closed work would be more appropriate. Anyone have ideas/patterns?

Speaking of patterns: are there Braille beading patterns, and if so, any sources of free patterns?

Finally, I just registered for the NFB of CT convention. Anyone else going? Would love to meet you.
