[Nfb-krafters-korner] starting with a skein of yarn

I usually take my chances with large skeins of yarn and find that on the average I make fewer joins if I do not prewind. Occasionally, I lose the bet, but sometimes I can use an entire pound of yarn in a prayer shawl without a single join, so I don't always follow the recommendation.
