[Nfb-krafters-korner] class list out

I use the knife hold with the crochet hook in my right hand, and my working yarn is woven through the fingers of my left hand (over the top of my pointer finger, under my middle finger, over the top of my ring finger and it then hangs down between my ring finger and my pinky).

I had to grab my current crochet project just to see how I held the hook. For me it is a pencil. I tried the knife hold and it seemed to have a strain on my wrist.
The difference is the pencil hold has the hook end coming out between thumb and forefinger.  The knife hold has the hook extending from under the thumb toward the wrist.  That is, if I understand what the holds really are.
So my question is how do people hold the working yarn?  I couldn’t describe what I do.  It is such a comfortable   habit that controls yarn  tension. Interested in what others do.
