My opinion:  To each their own...

I will not do email classes.  I wish our classes could go back the way they
were first taught.  It isn't that the teachers have changed the way they use
to do it, but the students have changed it.

I totally agree that we need email classes, but I enjoy the telephone
classes.  I enjoy speaking to all of you.  I enjoy listening to the other
teacher's classes and listen to the students.  I feel taking part in these
classes and bringing up the questions or clarifications that I hear in the
background from the students that seem not to be totally understanding what
is being explained is part that I can help.

The way classes use to be done is the students had time to purchase their
supplies and that is why we had the rule for having classes posted on the
website for 4 weeks before a class starts.  That gave people time to sign up
for the class, go out or order their supplies online and be ready with their
supplies at hand on the first day of class.  They could sit and work along
with the teacher and if they didn't understand something, they could ask
right then.  Teachers and students could put the method into other words so
the people in the class all understood how to do it.

Teachers would also offer time between each class to work one on one with
any student who did not get how it was being done.  Our teachers still offer
the one to one in between classes, but if a student is just listening and
not working along on the project, the students are missing out having their
questions answered right then and there wile working on it.

If the students are annoyed which no one ever mentioned to me that the class
took too long to get thru with all the questions.  I feel that is how
Crafters Korner is different.  The teachers are fantastic and takes their
time to prepare written directions.  Take time with the students teaching
and explaining the method and we do make friends and build each other's
confidence.

If people complained to me I would advise that if you wanted something that
you didn't have to wait for so long, maybe reading directions &/or finding a
pattern online is your best bet.

We have gotten several new folks joining the list and maybe we need to
change things  to help out what our members would like.  I want to be able
to continue
 Doing classes the way we use to do them, but maybe we can offeranother way
for others to do classes.

I have to voice my opinion. I know others will not agree, but that is why
Beyer's makes many flavors, so bear with me. June was the first time in 8
years I have even taught an email class and I did not like it at all. So for
all my past students, Sorry, I will not do it again. I like hearing all
those voices behind the class line and getting the feeling that some of you
did not understand or get my instructions. I like hearing the comments and
other people who give me their opinions or other ideas on how to do it
differently. I know after the class I got to speak with new members and hear
the voices of those I only speak with on list. I understand this is the new
world and most people like this, but I just Do Not. I will teach the market
bag by email but reconsidering the little girl purse in August, have not
make decision yet. I always follow up my class with written instructions but
I personally feel that most people only take the email class to save and
file it for later and that becomes a UFO also. Most of you do not realize
how much time is taken to write and try to print the lesson with all the
turns and twist just to put it on list and have it filed. I believe it is
like writing a book, your patterns get put into a shelf and never looked at
unless needed. So, if you want to do a craft and I am presenting it you will
have to come to class and learn it at that time. I will try to keep my
classes to the one to one and one half hour time and I will try to keep them
fun and enjoyable for all, but, sorry, no more email classes for me.
