If you are not following a pattern, you must stop every few rounds to
measure. I have done this for my own head. As you increase measure your head
as you go. To increase this is what I follow. When row is completed, using
sc I ch two and then make sc in same st as turning ch, counts a two and each
round is start 2 sc, 1sc, 2sc all the way around. Next row starts with the
two then 1 sc in next 2 sts, then 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next two sts. And
continue this pattern with 3 then 4 then 5 then next row sc and measure. If
you need more length to the hat doe increase 5, 6 and so on until you have
to start decrease or add your brim. If you do not understand this feel free

I got the starting ring down but once I go round by round, I am stuck.

Can someone help me?

How do I go about increasing in each round?

And, what is the average amount of stitches for an adult hat?
