Class Description: In this e-mail class, you will learn to fold a flat,
two-dimensional Christmas tree from one sheet of square paper. This
Christmas tree is a classic origami model that is easy to fold. It is not
only instantly recognizable, but there are so many options for decorating
it, thus it could be a great project to do with children or use it to
decorate hand-made cards or gifts for Christmas. Use paper you have around
your house to practice. You can then buy colored or patterned paper if you
decide to make your tree for Christmas

Skill Level: Beginner

Supplies Needed:

Rectangular pieces of paper, like writing paper, construction paper or
ordinary copy paper.

Optional: embellishments like buttons, ribbon, crayons or markers

(Note: The first step in the project will be to make the rectangular paper
into a square, so, if you know how to make a square paper from a rectangular
piece of paper, feel free to create your square or squares before class.)
For those who do not know how to create square paper, this will be covered
in class.

Where can you get supplies? Any craft store.
