[Nfb-krafters-korner] Posting of personal Information - WAS: Finding an email address in an email

Cathy and All,

Because this list is a public list and the messages are archives, anyone can
search what is posted here and retrieve the information from the messages.
For that reason, a person should give thought to what information they are
putting in their messages and may not want to place their e-mail address in
the body of the e-mail. Granted, if someone really wants to find info about
you, it does not take much, but why make it any easier for them.
Personally, I recommend that you think twice about posting any of the
following information directly to a public list like this one.

. Your home address

. Your birthday

. Your home or cell number

. Your e-mail address

. Details about an upcoming vacation

. Details about upcoming events that will be taking you away from
your home (party, graduation, funeral, doctor's appointments, medical
procedures, etc.)

. Your daily commute details

It is each members choice to choose whether or not to include any of this
information in a message that they post to this or any other list. I'm not
saying that we should make a rule saying what people should or should not
include in their messages. We each need to be aware that there is a risk
involved with posting personal information.

Annette

Annette,

Those are helpful Jaws commands. however, alt-1 is not always helpful. for
example in your message when I pressed alt-1 I was told that the message was
from krafters korner on behalf of Annette Carr, but your email address was
not listed. Sometimes this happens which is why we ask that folks include
their name and email address at the end of their post in case someone would
like to reply privately.

I'd better change my signature. <smile>
