[Nfb-krafters-korner] convention

Thank you Cindy for putting this into words that I was struggling to find.
I agree, our Division Constitution was not written with the intent to
exclude members or deny  opportunity for participation.  It was created
based on what was available at that time.  Times have changed, so let's work
together to find ways to use the tools we now have to be an example to NFB
Divisions, the NFB as a whole, and the world.  The ideas that we have been
tossing around here, once organized, presented in a professional manner, and
hopefully then implemented will be an example of how to offer an environment
that allows for full participation from a diverse population.  Change does
not happen overnight, and sometimes it comes about in little baby steps.
Let's work together for the good of the division.

Just to clarify, the constitution was drafted in 2008 (?) which is more than
a few years and technology has drastically changed since then. There used to
be time when you could not get the convention agenda until you registered at
the convention. You had very little idea what things you might want to
attend until that time. Now look at the agenda being published in all kinds
of formats almost a month before the convention. People register online and
have almost no waiting when they actually pick up their badges.

Please offer constructive ideas to help the board get the answers and find
out how we can change things.

Sorry I was not at chat on Monday night. I agree with you that this issue
needs to be resolved. I also know that this was drafted a few years ago by
Ramona, Joyce and Cindy and some others. I am hoping that Ramona or Cindy
might speak up and clearly define this election rules. I would request that
we might hear from our Board members especially founding members for this
matter. I understand how confusing this is for our new members. I will ask
directly on list for clarification.

>From my understanding from what was briefly mentioned during the first
portion of Monday nights chat, when Krafters Korner was established this
division was told that we needed a constitution & the constitution for the
NFB was adopted.  I have never received a copy of the constitution,
therefore I am going strictly by what was discussed Monday night & what has
been posted to the list.

I am speaking my opinion & hope this matter can be resolved quickly.
