I'm so sorry to hear that you have to go through this.  It just amazes me
how people have no respect for cemeteries.  We have a small family cemetery,
which my family has been using for over 150 years and it has been vandalized
several times.  It is fenced and even locked, but somehow people get over
the fence or cut the lock.  We keep it neat and clean out of respect for our
ancestors and it is very upsetting when it gets destroyed.  They just break
and steal tomb stones; I can't imagine someone actually taking ashes.  I
hope this gets resolved and his remains are returned to you.

Since I hadn't heard anything official meaning I hadn't been contacted by
the cemetery or police as of yet, I was holding onto a string that John's
ashes were not taken.  I just got off of the phone as I called the cemetery
and asked them if John's ashes were part of the missing ones.

The string broke when they told me "yes".  They told me John's name is on
the list and they will be making phone calls.  They told me police are
working hard on this and checking video from the area.  They have hopes of
finding who did this, but it is a mess and they will contact the people once
they get done.

I contacted the VFW folks as they were so helpful when John died and there
are town police that belong to the police force here in Stratford.

I hate that I may have to go thru this again, as that is what I feel right
now.  I was told the cemetery is planning a Memorial for those families that
had love ones in this wall.  I am unsure about my feelings on this.
