[Nfb-krafters-korner] Hadley

Marianne,

The Braille Literacy 4 course is reading and writing contracted braille. I took the course last year before UEB was initiated. Now they are redoing it for UEB. They send you 3 booklets in braille: 2 are the reading assignments that have to be done and the other is a list of contracted words they use in the course. . The instructor has a Hadley line where you can leave your reading portion on a voice mail. The writing part is on the cartridge. You listen to it and write it out as you listen. They usually provide you with a slate and stylus you can keep. They used to loan Perkins Braillers, but I'm not sure if they do that anymore. They also send you mailing labels to mail back the writing assignments. I don't understand why they sent the printed version to Naima. I'm sure this can be rectified. Remember, the office hours group with the Hadleys instructor is available at 712-432-5610 and access code is 6658. It is held every Tuesday at 3:30 CT.

Naima, if it is a braille
writing course they can't send it in braille
because all you would have to do is copy it. I
would talk to Hadley. Do you
 have the
talking book machine from NLS? You may be able to get the
 course
on a cartridge now. Send me an e-mail
off list at marianne at denningweb.com
and I will help you see if you can get this
course going again, if you are
 interested.
