Hi Sandra,

I learned a few years back to set limits on myself.

If I am making a craft for someone for Christmas I have set myself a deadline. If it isn't completed by Thanksgiving then I am not counting on it as a gift for the current year.

That has taken the stress off, and put the enjoyment back into making the crafts for Christmas gifts.

I am saying this as I am in the middle of making 2 Christmas stockings, actually, I am about a third of the way through the first one. One of the girls I had in my Girl Scout troop got married this weekend, and I want to make her and her husband each a Christmas stocking. It is a Fisherman Knit stocking that I got the pattern from Marjorie Arnott.

I am making one in Hunter green and the second in a Burgundy red. Then if they have little ones someday, I will make other colors for the children.

Hey, all,

Is anyone aware of an Adult Children of Crafters, or OverCrafters Anonymous meeting? On the days I’m up ‘til 4:00 (I remember one Christmas Eve I was cramming on a present ‘til 5:00 or so), I ask myself this!!! Depending on how you look at it, my Irish/German/Swedish (and Aspergers-related) stubbornness is NOT good for me—or, it’s very good in that, the present got finished in time and I didn’t have to wrap up a little box with a note stating, “I owe you an afghan—finished in two more weeks.” I suppose, then, I’m not COMPLETELY addicted—YET!
