[Nfb-krafters-korner] mailing crafts

Before the age of the computer, postage for parcels was based on distance.
I suppose now that the computer knows all, they base it on volume and who
knows what else.

Theoretically, there are three sizes of flat rate boxes. You could bring
labels to the post office for them, but none are as small as you would want
to ship a single piece of jewelry.

The tyvac envelopes (spelling is guessed) are good but not cheap. First
class postage is based on weight in ounces and would be less than the boxes.

I used to manage a mail room as part of my business, and we received all the
notices of changes, but I have tried to avoid getting them for the last
several years.

Hi Joyce,

I am curious to know how you are handling addressing the packages.?
The best way I have heard of thus far is to print out an envelope and then
tape it to a box or padded envelope.

Last time I wanted to mail a package I learned that My post office has those
priority boxes but only the small size and it was expensive to send out a
fairly small package.
The woman behind the counter told me that if I am shipping an item that is
not priority mail the cost depends on the zip code and it is not necessarily
the distance factor. Some zip codes are more expensive to ship to for
whatever reason. For example, Idaho. Yes, Ramona I am talking about when I
shipped that package to you.

Labels are easy to print out if you want to print many of them at once, but
I haven't found a way to print out a single label except to purchase a
labeling machine. It was expensive, I forget how much, but too expensive to
suit me.
