Amazon developed this and I would suggest you do some research on the internet about the echo.  It is voice controlled and weekly they are coming out with new things that are capable to work with the echo.  Of course the new gajets  do come with their own prices.

I use mine for listening to music, asking the time, getting temperature and weather reports, asking questions and it does cheer me up when I ask it to tell me a joke.  It has the same type of dumb jokes that my husband would tell me.  I do miss him.
