[Nfb-krafters-korner] Loom Knitting

I love hand knitting and loom knitting.  Neither is better than the other.  It all depends on what you want to do, what kind of yarn you have and what you want to make.  
Take making a blanket, you can make it in one piece on circular needles, with a long cable.  You can knit squares and sew or crochet them together.  You can loom knit the squares and put them together.  You also could hand knit or loom knit strips for your blanket.  
The next step is creating the color plan and what stitches you want to use.

I find I like to knit on the go and loom knit at home, where I have a hard table for my loom.  Some use their lap, but I feal I get more even stitches, using a hard surface.

As they say, in the crafting world, there is no correct way, or  to each his own!

Yes Rhonda these looms come in different sizes, different peg spacing and you can make a lot of different things on them.

Are the knitting looms the round ones in different sizes? I'm a crocheter, but have used the round looms to make hats only, and it wasn't until recently I learned there are other patterns those are used for. I'm excited to try to learn, since I can't use knitting needles.

Peg sends tail wags, and you're in our thoughts and prayers, too.

I can't loom knit to save my life. My tension is always too tight, and I've been known to break pegs because of the tightness of it. Loom knitting is faster than needle knitting, but I like the feel of the yarn and knitting needles in my hands. If I made a mistake on a loom knitted piece, I wouldn't even know where to begin to take it apart, or put it back on the loom.
